You can create a JPEG file from virtually any document that can be printed. Print to JPEG is an extension for Baudouin Raoult's excellent Print to PICT utility, which is a printer driver that previews and saves printed pages to PICT files or the clipboard. Extensions are provided by the author to write graphic file formats such as GIF and TIFF, but not JPEG. You can almost certainly get Print to PICT from the same place that you got Print to JPEG. (It's available on AOL in the Internet Connection's file library.) Why use it? It is very useful to be able to generate JPEG images from your documents in one easy step. JPEG is a widely recognized standard. It is supported by many applications, including every good Web browser. It provides very good compression, particularly for photographic images. Print to JPEG uses the components provided with Apple QuickTime to perform the compression, so you can count on the resulting images being correct. Since the JPEG algorithms can involve some loss of image quality, it is important to have complete control over the amount of compression applied. Print to JPEG provides that control. ----------------------------------------------------------- Internet Connection Forum Libraries. Keyword: NET SOFTWARE This file has been checked for viruses. DMA
